Restaurants

All the towns in and around Cayuga have fast food, take outs, and fine dinning to meet all your tastes.

Menus include Canadian, Thai, and Italian. Caledonia and Dunnville both have homemade bakeshops.

Cayuga has Tim Horton’s, Godfathers, River Three Family Restaurant & Back Forty Sports Bar. County Inn, and the Twisted Lemon, are both fabulous fine dining experiences.The Twisted Lemon also offers cooking classes.

Natural Adventures

The Grand River is at your doorstep. Fishing, boating, trails, cycling, parks, are offered along the whole route of the Historical Grand River. Follow Hwy 54 and 17 and stop at Brantford, Caledonia, York, Cayuga, and Dunnville.

Near Caledonia you can find Grand River Boat Cruises at the Big Creek Boat Farm. Relax and enjoy the view while having a delicious dinner. Go kayaking on the Grand at the Heritage River Canoe and Kayak Company or birding at Ruthven National Historic Site.

Lake Erie is only ½ hr. away. Enjoy the drive along the lake and stop at Port Dover for its sandy beaches, gifts shops, restaurants, boat rides, and the view. Bikers – Friday the 13th.

Hamilton also has many lovely spots to explore. Flowers, gardens, waterfalls, parks and trails.

Six Nations

Six Nations Reserve is close by and learn about Pauline Johnston, a famous poet and actress in her family home at Chiefswood Manor. Visit the gift shops, and maybe take the POW–WOW.

Museums

Caledonia has Edinburgh Square and the Old Mill, and the Grand Trunk Station that is also a Tourist Booth. Cayuga has a Museum and Archives for research and Ruthven Mansion and Park. Selkirk the Cottonwood Mansion and Dunnville the No. 6 RCAF Airport Museum, Rainham Centre has the Canadian Drilling Rig Museum.

Nearby Hamilton is within easy reach. There are numerous sites to see, such as Dundurn Castle; Battlefield House and The Art Gallery of Hamilton.

Racing

Toronto Motorsports Park is only 5 minutes away. See their web site for events and schedules.

Golfing

Haldimand and surrounding area is the hub of golf courses for Southern Ontario. These clubs offer golf at reasonable rates and are open to the public.

Niagara Falls And Niagara-On-The–Lake

A must stop only 1 hr. from Cayuga and spend the day seeing the Falls, all the sites, drive along the Parkway, stop at the Butterfly Conservatory and Whirlpool Canyon.

In Niagara-On–The–Lake take in the many shops, restaurants, and a play at one of the three theatres of the Shaw Festival.

Wine tour with family in Norfolk County.

I have a bride ,her Mother and Bridesmaids stay at my place and getting ready to go to the Church. Bill and I did the Exotic Dream Car Experience at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga. We took a Lamborghini and Porsche out for a fast drive around the track.
